Conditional Principal Residence Exemption
Michigan Residents,
If you've taken advantage of the conditional rescission of a principle residence exemption (PRE), you need to file this renewal form with your township assessor on or before December 31st in order to receive the exemption for the following year.
The conditional rescission allows for an owner to have a PRE on a current Michigan property and on a previously exempted property at the same time (for up to 3 years) if that property is not occupied or leased, is currently for sale, and is not used for any business or commercial purpose.
